So imagine you have a super cute dress in your wardrobe that’s a little fancy but has been sitting there for a while. You don’t have any major events to wear it to but would still somehow love to wear it out. Well guess what? I’ve got you! Today I’m sharing my go to tips on how to successfully dress down that fancy number in your closet. 

 

 

 

I know, I know. You’re probably thinking that I’m a little crazy but trust me on this! Adding a pair of sleek sneakers will add a casual vibe to your outfit. For this outfit I’m wearing above, I decided to wear my all white Nike Theas because of their clean look. Another pair of sneaks that I love to wear are my classic Adidas. Whether all white or the classic black and white stripes, Adidas will get the job done when it comes down to scaling back the fanciness of a dress. If you aren’t a sneaker type of gal, you can look into loafers or a cute pair of boots.

 

 

 

Another easy way to dress down your dress is by throwing on a jacket. If you want to bring down the fancy meter, a motorcycle jacket will be perfect for your outfit! I knew my new motorcycle jacket that I picked up from H&M would be the perfect touch and also made a dress that can easily be worn with heels look casual. Depending on the style of the dress a blazer will definitely work as well.

 

 

When ever I want to keep an outfit casual, I scale back on the accessories. For this look I opted for very little jewelry, which were literally just my earrings. I personally feel that the more accessories you add on, the more drama you’re adding to your look – especially if they are statement pieces. If you still want to wear jewelry, look into dainty necklaces that won’t add too much to your overall outfit.
