Hey ya’ll!
During the weekend of July 4th I had the opportunity to visit the city of angels – Los Angeles! This trip was my second time being in California and based on all of the awesome things I’ve heard about LA I was instantly hyped for the trip. We also had two of our friends join us which was double the fun! We visited quite a few great locations and while we only had 72 hours in the city, I feel like we got a pretty good feel for what it has to offer.
We decided to try out an AirBnB experience for the first time and let me tell you all, it was absolutely worth it. Our host Natalie took us throughout the city and gave us great facts about different locations as well as Los Angeles as a whole. Touring the city with a native was perfect because not only was the process seamless but she knew exactly where to avoid and gave great recommendations for our trip. If it’s your first time going to LA I would highly recommend!

Along with visiting these spots we also ate at great restaurants during the trip. Honestly I wish we took more photos of the food but we immediately chowed down once it reached the table haha! Here are the recommendations:
- Rosco’s Chicken and Waffles – You may have to wait a bit as Rosco’s is high in demand but it’s absolutely worth it.
- Daves Hot Chicken – This restaurant had a line as well but they moved it along pretty quickly. The food here is FIRE. I recommend the chicken sandwiches!
- Blu Jam Restaurant – Great brunch spot! I had as scrambled egg BLT sandwich and churro french toast sticks (which is the best french toast ever).
- Umami Burger – We went to the location near the Grove shopping area. It’s a nice spot that had pretty good burger options. Try out the impossible burger!

We also made our way over to downtown Santa Monica on our last day in LA. We walked along the pier, made a stop at the beach (views galore), and stopped for a bite to eat at Blue Plate Taco. I highly recommend their Passion Smash margarita and lobster tacos!

If you can’t already tell, we had a blast in LA! I look forward to documenting more of my travel journeys and will be sure to give you all the 411.
