One thing that I find many bloggers, influencers, and business owners struggle with is creating content consistently. Between balancing work and your personal life, learning to create content with a busy lifestyle can be difficult for anyone. From utilizing content calendars to repurposing your content, it’s definitely possible when incorporating the right hacks into your lifestyle. Let’s get straight into it!
1. Incorporate a Content Calendar into Your Schedule
Guys, when I say this is the number one tip to creating content with a busy lifestyle, I mean it! Having a schedule where you dedicate specific time to creating content is the first step. I personally love to start off each month with a content creation schedule and use that to keep me organized. Using a content creation calendar definitely helps me organize my workflow. The calendar also serves as a reminder when certain pieces of content are due. I’ve found that applying the same energy you may have towards making sure that you’re at work on time or tuning into your favorite show every week to creating content, is when you’ll truly see a difference.
2. Begin Automating Your Content Creation
When you begin implementing task automation you’ll find more time in your day towards writing that killer blog post. One automation I recommend is scheduling out your social media content. Once Instagram allowed users to auto-post content, the game definitely changed. Instead of finding time each day to carve out to post on social (which you ultimately may forget to do anyway because you’re busy), spend an hour or two establishing your content flow for the week and preschedule away! A few social media scheduling apps that I love using are Preview and Planoly. These apps do a great job of allowing you to organize the look of your feed and add additional content such as the caption, hashtags, etc. Ultimately, to create content with a busy lifestyle, you have to begin to invest in a practical and repeatable content creation process.
3. Get into Batching Your Content
Batching content is a strategy that allows you to complete multiple tasks in one time period opposed to spreading them out individually. So for example, instead of writing content sporadically throughout the week, try scheduling out a few hours on a Saturday to create multiple pieces of content. This helps keep a consistent flow because your brain is completing similar tasks at a time instead of jumping from one to another. Batching content is also great if you find yourself randomly having writer’s block throughout the week because guess what? Your content is pre-written and good to go!
4. Start Repurposing Content
There are so many moving parts to content creation. From posting on social to writing, there’s quite a bit that needs to be accounted for. So much so, that I’m sure if you look at any past content you’ve created there’s been a time where you maybe forgot to share a post on Pinterest or provided so much value in one post from last year that could’ve been broken up into multiple pieces. I recommend combing through some of your content and find new ways to reuse the awesome content you’ve already created. Content repurposing saves you so much time because instead of starting from scratch, you have a great foundation to build on.
In my experience, using these strategies to create content wit a busy lifestyle will pay dividends for your blog or business. I truly hope these tips help in your content creation endeavors!
